- Demo took place only on The Castle
- No Substories available in the Demo
- English Voice Acting not available in the Demo
- The demo takes place on "The Castle," a massive "Adult Theme Park" build on a massive container ship out in Osaka Bay. The Castle is frequented by all manner of criminals, seeking illegal fun away from the law
- Joryu/Kiryu reaches The Castle with Akame, by Helicopter. Akame informs Kiryu/Joryu of the various activates aboard
- Several locations: A Boutique, A Cabaret Club, Two Separate Gambling Halls, and a Coliseum
- After purchasing Tags or Chips, the main casino features card games (Poker and Blackjack), while another establishment called "Toba" has Koi Koi and Oicho-Kabu. Winnings are redeemed for prizes (accessories, clothing, tonics) at both locations.
- After Akame leaves Kiryu, he's jumped by a group of yakuza that tell him they don't let just anyone in.
- The two combat styles, Agent and Yakuza, feel very distinct.
- Agent is truly centered around the gadgets, which are activated by holding down each face button.
- Spider — Joryu uses a wire to tie and throw enemies
- Hornet — Calls A.I. combat drowns
- Serpent — Joryu uses his jet shoes to hover and charge down opponents
- Firefly — A cigarette-shaped bomb
- Agent Style is effected against large groups of enemies (particularly in the coliseum fights for money), lots of AOE attacks.
- Yakuza Style harkens back to Kiryu's more traditional combat, feels like an effective distilment of moves from every other game.
- Club mini-game seems to function pretty standard, pay the entry fee, choose a woman to drink with, choose conversation options, offer gifts, grow relationship. Full FMV of the women was the standout, some may find it "awkward"
- Character customization is handled at the Boutique. Options are broad, head-to-toe, ranging from a three-piece suit, two jeans and a t-shirt, to a Majima Construction Hard Hat.
- Two separate categories of outfit: One for Regular Wear and One for Fighting in the Coliseum.
- Several loadouts can be saved and previewed, in which Kiryu/Joryu does a walk and turn on the catwalk.
- According to SEGA, regular wear outfits carry over into the main world, coliseum outfits do not.
- The Coliseum Deathmatches give you a large roster to select playable characters to chose from. Currently unknown how they are unlocked
- Some options include the Rooster and Ram Men from Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Seagull Cinema mini-game, Gary "Buster" Holmes, Patriarch Gondawara from Yakuza 2/Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Goro Majima.
- Majima plays similarly to his Yakuza 0 Legendary Style
