Steins;Gate Elite takes the best of the anime and visual novel source material to create a superb visual novel adventure experience that is a must play for newcomers to the genre and fans of the original visual novel. - God is a Geek
In the end, Steins;Gate is simply a fantastic visual novel. It has great characters which you can't help but come to care about and a complex and interesting time travel system which draws you in and never lets go. Add to these elements a plot that is equal parts tense and heartwarming and you have a modern classic. If you call yourself a sci-fi or time travel fan, you must play Steins;Gate. - Kotaku
The House in Fata Morgana
Genre: Horror, Suspense, PsychologicalA gothic suspense tale set in a cursed mansion. "The House in Fata Morgana" is a full-length visual novel spanning nearly a millennium that deals in tragedy, human nature, and insanity.
The House in Fata Morgana is a game with a story that is impossible to forget. - Gamerant
Describing The House in Fata Morgana as “entertaining” isn’t exactly accurate, as it’s a much more introspective experience than its contemporaries. In that regard, more visual novels should take a page from Novectacle’s book — The House in Fata Morgana eschews genre tropes in favor of a style of experimentation that is deeply literary, and the result is incredibly refreshing. In a sea of copycats, The House in Fata Morgana is a standout visual novel. - RPGFan
The House in Fata Morgana is a story I won’t be forgetting for a long time. I’ve not stopped listening to the soundtrack ever since I finished the true ending and only want more visual novel fans to experience this. I’m very glad I refused to watch any trailers before playing this and went into it without knowing anything about it. It is a haunting and magical experience. - God is a Geek
The Devil on G-String
Genre: Psychological Thriller, Suspense, IntrigueYou play as Azai Kyousuke, the son of an infamous gangster. Kyousuke knows what he likes and lets nothing stand in his way in getting what he wants.
Referred to as God by his classmates, he often enjoys listening to Bach and "working" part time for his stepfather. But when a beautiful girl named Usami Haru appears in town along with an international criminal known as "Maou," they bring with them their cat-and-mouse game of plotting and intrigue.
...an intriguing storyline that you’ll want to see through to its conclusion. - Hardcore Gamer
Muv-Luv Alternative
Genre: PTSD Pain TrainThis isn’t a cutesy high school rom-com anymore; it’s an epic tale of political conspiracies, international espionage, an alien menace, quantum causality, bittersweet reunions, genetic modification, and much, much more. Gluttons for punishment, rejoice, because once it gets rolling, there are no brakes on this pain train. It’ll test your limits, challenge your worldview, and by the time it’s all over, you’ll be so emotionally spent that it’ll be weeks before you can fully process the implications of what you’ve just witnessed. Fair warning, though: common side effects include feelings of emptiness, PTSD, and unrealistic expectations for any and all other visual novels. Therapy not included.
Muv-Luv, as a whole, is equal parts beautiful and ugly, and it’s extremely affecting as a result. This is an imperfect yet peerless classic in its field. There is nothing else like it, and I doubt there ever will be. It’s a flawed masterpiece that’s destined to be misunderstood. It may not be for everybody, but there's something undeniably special here. It will rip your heart out and leave you begging for more. - Destructoid
Muv-Luv Alternative, and the series as a whole for that matter, is something that should simply be experienced before anything else. I haven’t been this moved by a game in years, and it’s definitely not something I was expecting from this series given its unimpressive beginnings. Much like Alternative’s central theme of love that transcends the boundaries of space and time, this is a story that transcends its genre and has survived the test of time as it continues to influence some of the most beloved works of Japanese fiction to this day. Whether you liked Muv-Luv or not, if you’re a fan of visual novels you owe it to yourself to experience this absolute genre-defining crown jewel of a story. - RPGFan
The Muv-Luv trilogy pulls on the player the most radical 180-degrees twist that I ever saw in a video game. The story tricks you into being complacent, but then it hits you straight into the gut with the force of a thousand suns as soon as you think you’re safe. - DualShockers
