take-two verkauft nach fast 7 jahren wieder ihr eigenen indie sub-publisher private division an einen noch unbekannten käufer.
Take-Two Interactive has confirmed the sale of Private Division for an undisclosed sum, as it drops the indie-focused publishing label to focus on larger projects.

In statements alongside the publisher's latest financial results, the company confirmed another party has acquired not only the Private Division label, but also all of its live and unreleased titles.

Take-Two will continue to support Moon Studios' action RPG No Rest for the Wicked, which launched in Early Access on PC back in April.
"The team of Private Division did a great job supporting independent developers and, almost to a one, every project they supported did well. However, the scale of those projects was, candidly, on the smaller side, and we're in the business of making great big hits."

There was confusion as to whether the aforementioned studios had actually shut down, with Zelnick claiming neither studio had technically been closed, although a WARN notice indicated that Intercept was due to close its doors in July following widespread layoffs at the studio.

A Take-Two spokesperson has now confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that both studios were closed prior to the sale of Private Division.

auch wenn dragon's dogma 2 für mich eher eine enttäuschung war, war itsuno mit für das comeback von capcom in den letzten jahren verantwortlich.
mal schauen was er nun danach macht (hoffentlich kein chinesischer geldgeber) und wen capcom nun an devil may cry 6 setzt.

und ein weiteres indie studio muss sich verabschieden: dieses mal trifft es das spanische studio tequila works, welches u.a. rime, gylt und sexy brutale veröffentlicht hatten.
In a statement, newly appointed general manager Térence Mosca said he was "proud of what [the team] has accomplished together," but "prolonged market conditions" means the Madrid-based Tequila Works had no option but to file for insolvency.

Consequently, Tequila Works' founders have stood down, and Mosca has been appointed general manager.
Tequila Works was established in 2009 and developed games like The Sexy Brutale, Rime, and Gylt. In 2022, it secured investment from Tencent, and though it laid off a number of staff last month, the cuts were seemingly not enough to keep the studio afloat.

er spricht auch über die Unterstützung von AI Technologie und die Herausforderung dabei nicht den ursprünglichen Stil der Spiele zu verlieren

nachdem sony vor zwei jahren die anteile bei kadokawa erhöht hat, stehen sie wohl kurz davor den ganzen laden zu kaufen
NEW YORK/TOKYO, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Sony is in talks to acquire Kadokawa, the Japanese media powerhouse behind the "Elden Ring" game, two sources familiar with the matter said, as the technology giant looks to add to its entertainment portfolio.

The talks between the two sides are ongoing and, if successful, a deal could be signed in the coming weeks, the sources said.

Sony declined to comment. Kadokawa said it cannot comment

kadokawa hat etliche anime/manga lizenzen, aber auch im videospielbereich sind sie vertreten. größter name ist hier natürlich dark souls entwickler fromsoftware, welches sicherlich auch einer der gründe für den aufkauf sind.

nach drei monaten ist es dann auch eingetroffen:
Ich bin ja echt mal gespannt, was das am Ende wird. Ciri ist unter meinen Top 3 most favourite characters der letzten Generation, insbesondere vom Design her, und hätte irgendwie mega Bock auf ein Spiel, wo man nur sie spielt, auch wenn das vom Format her sehr schwer umsetzbar wäre. Ich fand aber auch andererseits die ganzen anderen Hexer auch sehr cool und wäre auch offen für einen ganz anderen spielbaren Charakter...

Ja, hab da aber große Hoffnungen, da Cyberpunk vom Gameplay her imo fantastisch ist. Bei Witcher 3 kann man auch sehr viel cooles vom Gameplay mit Mods machen, auch teilweise komplett andere Kampf- und Gameplaystile, aber vanilla war das auch nur ok, auch wenn es ganz stylish aussah...
